The Umbra Orb is a magic orb which behaves similarly to the Blue Orb, only it can't attack as often and has a different element. Additionally, instead of the orb itself physically moving forward, it sends out the attack as a kind of ghost; since the orb itself doesn't move, the Scythe Ring can't be used to increase damage dealt.

The Umbra Orb was a reward for Kickstarter backers, and can only be obtained by entering a specific password in the Passwords menu; as such, it doesn't count for the Orb Collector achievement.
