Dark Flames is a spell necklace which fires a pair of fireballs that criss-cross in a helix pattern; they travel forward a moderate distance (roughly half the width of the screen) before returning towards the player.
Like most spell necklaces, Dark Flames can only be obtained by giving Neliste an 
Essence Crystal and a 
Gold Necklace. Since its corresponding 
Umbra Orb was a reward for Kickstarter backers, it is not required for the Spell Weaver achievement.
